Ever since the senior designations pursuant to a notice issued by the apex court on February 25, 2020, there was 287 application and in addition 68 more applied after the deadline for submission of application was extended.
The Supreme Court issued notice for the Senior gown in this regard there are 355 total applications applied.
After Initial notification, 287 lawyers had applied for senior designations pursuant to a notice of the apex court on February 25.
The apex court fixed deadline for application was March 21.
Another notice was issued by the top court on May 7 extending the deadline for submission of the application to May 14.
68 more lawyers applied pursuant to the notice and the total shoot up to 355, the notice issued by the Court on Wednesday revealed.
The Court invited suggestions from stakeholders on the candidates.
Such suggestions/ views accompanied by verifiable material may be submitted to the Secretariat of the Committee for Designation of Senior Advocates by June 3, Friday.
