A new lawsuit has been filed in Varanasi’s civil court, requesting the dismantling of the Gyanvapi mosque.

The action asks for the current structure to be demolished, which the plaintiffs believe was built on top of the temple.
It has been requested that the plaintiffs be declared the sole owners of the suit property.
The plea also requested a permanent injunction prohibiting defendants from interfering with plaintiffs’ puja, darshan raj bhig, and arati at the location.
The plaintiffs are represented by Maan Bahadur Singh, Shivam Gaur, Himanshu Tiwary, S.N. Chaturvedi, and Anushka Tiwary.
