After losing his case, a 55-year-old man attempted suicide by slitting his wrist with a sharp cutter inside the Bombay High Court, but was stopped in the middle and restrained from continuing the act by nearby advocate Mahesh Rawoo. The man was apprehended by Mumbai Police.
The incident occurred in the courtroom of Justice PD Naik, who presided over the case. After his application was denied by the court, prompiting him to take drastic measures.
It’s worth noting that scanning equipment at access points for litigants had been down for a few weeks, which may have led to a litigant bringing a sharp object into the Court without being discovered.
