Eleven more judges have been appointed to the Punjab and Haryana High Court by the Central Government.
On Sunday, a notice to this effect was posted on the Department of Law & Justice website.
The eleven advocates who have been cleared for appointment are:
– Nidhi Gupta;
– Sanjay Vashisth;
– Tribhuvan Dahiya;
– Namit Kumar;
– Harkesh Manuja;
– Aman Chaudhary;
– Naresh Singh;
– Harsh Bunger;
– Jagmohan Bansal;
– Deepak Manchanda; and
– Alok Jain.
On July 25, 2022, the Supreme Court Collegium made recommendations on their names.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court, which is entitled to have 85 judges, is currently operating with 46 judges and 39 open positions as of August 1, 2022.
