The appointment of ten more Allahabad High Court judges as permanent judges has been announced by the Central Government.
On Friday, June 17, a notice to this effect was posted on the Department of Law and Justice’s website.
The following additional judges have been appointed to permanent positions:
- Justice Sanjay Kumar Pachori;
- Justice Subhash Chandra Sharma;
- Justice Subhash Chand;
- Justice Saroj Yadav;
- Justice Mohd Aslam;
- Justice Anil Kumar Ojha
- Justice Sadhna Rani (Thakur);
- Justice Syed Aftab Husain Rizvi;
- Justice Ajai Tyagi; and
- Justice Ajai Kumar Srivastava-I.
The central government made the decision in response to the Supreme Court Collegium’s suggestion to make the nine judges permanent on May 21, 2022.
The Allahabad High Court, which has a sanctioned strength of 160 justices, is now operating with 94 judges and a vacancy position of 66 as of June 1, 2022.
